Holiday Summary

Day 1: Arrive Darwin:
Day 1 Arrive in Darwin and pick up your vehicle before settling into your accommodation and spending the afternoon exploring the local highlights Darwin has to offer such as the fish feeding, night markets and sensational sunsets.

Day 2: Around Darwin - Magnificent Litchfield National Park:
Head out to Litchfield Park and spending the day exploring the park and its magnificent attractions. Highlights include the termite mounds, Buley Rockhole, Wangi Falls & Florence Falls. At the end of the day you will know why the locals affectionately refer to this Park as Litchfield-du.

Day 3: Darwin to Kakadu
Day 3 Travel the 260 km from Darwin to Kakadu National Park along the Arnhem Hwy, stopping at Fogg Conservation Reserve & Window on the Wetlands Visitors Centre. After entering Kakadu head out to Ubirr Rock & explore the famous rock art take the opportunity to watch the incredible sunset over the Wetlands.

Day 4: Explore Kakadu National Park
Today offers you the opportunity to explore the north section of the park including a 1/2 hour scenic flight. Explore the rock art around Nourlangie and the award winning Bowali Visitor Centre before heading south to Cooinda and a 1.5hr Yellow Water Cruise. Accommodation at Cooinda

Day 5: Explore Kakadu National Park:

A second full day exploring the southern section of the park. Ample opportunity to visit the Warradjun Culture Centre and explore the Yirmikmik and Gunlom Falls Region. Alternatively you may chose between a guided day trip into Jim Jim & Twin Falls or guided cultural tour into Arnhemland. The Arnhemland option takes you to areas that have restricted access to the general public and some of the best Rock Art in the region. Day 6: Kakadu to Darwin
A casual day travelling back towards Darwin. Offers you an opportunity to visit any of the attractions in the Park you may have missed and are interested in exploring. Alternatively return via Pine Creek stopping of at little known Robin Falls, Umbrawarra Gorge or drop by the Territory Wildlife Park - You decide on the Day!!

Day 7: Depart Darwin & Arrive Alice Springs
A free morning to relax or explore more of Darwins' highlights depending on what time you are catching your flight to Alice Springs.
Arrive in Alice pick up your rental vehicle, settle into your accommodation and swim by the pool or begin exploring some of the many attractions within Alice Springs.

Day 8: Around Alice - West MacDonnell Ranges:

The option to explore the spectacular gorges and gaps of the West MacDonnell Ranges at your own pace. The road is bitumen all the way till Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen Lodge. Choose from the 9 attractions depending on your fitness level and interests.

Day 9: Alice Springs to Uluru

Spend part of the day driving the 450 km from Alice Springs to Uluru along the Stuart and Lasseter highways. Both roads are excellent and well maintained. A mid morning departure allows you to arrive and settle in to your accommodation in a relaxed state. In the afternoon head out on a 1/2 hr scenic flight to take photos of this extraordinary landscape. The aerial view puts the size of Uluru and The Olgas into perspective against the flat desert.

Day 10: Exploring Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park:

A magnificent day exploring the Kata-Tjuta National Park. Spend the time driving or walking around the base of the rock exploring the many aspects of this amazing monolith . You also have the opportunity to climb the Rock (people with heart and respiratory problems or fear of heights should not attempt it).

In the afternoon visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) a collection of weathered red domes, located 50 km from Ayers Rock along a sealed road. There are two formal walks at Kata Tjuta and both are recommended. Many people believe Kata Tjuta is even more spectacular than the Rock.

Return to your accommodation before being picked up and taken to the Sounds of Silence Dinner. Watch the sunset over the Rock and fine dinning under the stars.

Day 11: Uluru - Alice Springs:

An early wake up for a peaceful 1 hr camel ride over big red sand dunes in the cool clear morning air to watch the sunrise over Uluru & Kata Tjuta. Skilled guides describe the flora and fauna along the trail & serve billy tea & freshly baked beer-bread after the ride.

Returning back to the resort you will then drive the 450km back to Alice Springs. Your departure time will depend on the attractions you want to see from these two locations and along the Lasseter and Stuart Highways

Day 12: Depart Alice

A free day to relax, play golf, shop for souvenirs or explore more of Alices' highlights depending on what time and how you are leaving Alice. (Package price assumes vehicle will be returned to the depot at the same time as it was picked up on Day 1).
