7 Day Top End Highlights by 4WD

Compared to the 7 Day Darwin and Big 3 This package gives you an additional full day in Kakadu and a 4WD for people who want to really explore the Top End rather than just see the highlights.

Day 1: Arrive Darwin:
Day 1 Arrive in Darwin and pick up your vehicle before settling into your accommodation and spending the afternoon exploring the local highlights Darwin has to offer such as the fish feeding, night markets and sensational sunsets. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can choose the attractions and therefore spend the day doing the things that most interest you.

Day 2 : Darwin to Kakadu
Travel the 260 km from Darwin to Jabiru along the Arnhem Hwy, stopping at Fogg Conservation Reserve & Window on the Wetlands Visitors Centre. Along the way stop off at the Adelaide River for a a famous Jumping Croc Cruise (extra cost) or explore some of the highlights around the Mary River Wetlands in your 4WD. After entering Kakadu head out to the picturesque East Alligator River to explore the nearby escarpment via the dedicated bushwalks and discover the aboriginal rock art at Ubirr Rock. At Ubirr you have the opportunity to watch the incredible sunset over the Wetlands. (Bus Groups not allowed at Ubirr for sunset) Return to Jabiru where you will spend the night.Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your day including exploring the great attractions around the Mary River Wetlands that most people miss.

Day 3: Around Kakadu National Park
A full day exploring the magnificent natural and cultural attractionsin the northern region that make Kakadu National Park such a special place including the must see Bowali Visitors Centre, Nourlangie Rock and nearby Gubara. In the afternoon travel to Cooinda where you will be staying and explore the Warradjan Cultural Centre.Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your day.

Day 4: Around Kakadu National Park
A fully flexible day with the opportunity to explore the attractions in the southern region of Kakadu at your own pace. Spend the morning relaxing at Gunlom Plunge Pool (Waterfall Creek Falls) A serene waterfall and plunge pool and explore the surrounding landscape at Gimbat and some of the great walks around Yirmikmuk. In the afternoon leave the Park and head for Katherine taking the time to stop off at historic Pine Creek and/or for a swim at picturesque Edith Falls before arriving in Katherine. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your day.

Day 5: Around Katherine ( Katherine Gorge)
Today you will explore the spectacle of the river, shear cliffs and rock art that make Katherine Gorge such a popular attraction. There are three ways to explore the Park, bushwalking, helicopter flight or boat cruise. The best way to see Katherine Gorge is a combination of two. Day 6: Katherine to Litchfield
From Katherine start traveling back towards Darwin stopping off at attractions of interest before entering the magnificent waterfalls and swimming holes of Litchfield National Park. Cool off with a swim at Buley Rockhole & Wangi Falls before spending a night at nearby Lake Bennet Wilderness Resort. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your day.

Day 7: Litchfield National Park to Darwin
A free morning to relax and re-enter Litchfield National Park before returning to Darwin. Spend as little or as long as you like at Litchfield depending on how you feel on the day. Your decision will be based on what time you want to arrive in Darwin and that will depending on what time and how you are leaving Darwin. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your day.

Includes: Car Rental (Package assumes vehicle returned at same time as picked up on Day 1)
