Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Alice Springs

Arrive in Alice in the morning or around midday, pick up your rental vehicle and begin exploring some of the many attractions within Alice Springs. Alice's attractions can be explored as 6 seperate discovery trails based on themes. Choose and explore one or more of these themes depending on your interests. The Communications theme for example includes the School of the Air (the worlds largest classroom) and the Old Telegraph station. Choose and explore one or more trails that interest you before settling into your accommodation. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your time in Alice Springs.

Day 2: Balloons & West MacDonnell Ranges:

An early morning start with a spectacular balloon ride. Watch the sun rise & the kangaroos, wallabies and kites in their early morning activities. A Chicken and Champagne Breakfast awaits you on return ( - after the balloon has been packed up). Spend the rest of the day exploring the spectacular gorges and gaps of the West MacDonnell Ranges at your own pace. The road is bitumen all the way till Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen Lodge. Choose from the 9 attractions depending on your fitness level and interests, before returning to Alice Springs.Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your day exploring the wonderful West MacDonnell Ranges.

Day 3: Alice Springs to Wattarka (Kings Canyon)

Spend part of the day driving from Alice Springs to Kings Canyon. Spend the afternoon and therefore cooler part of the day exploring the shear cliff walls of Kings Canyon. The package deal includes a heli flight so that your introduction to the Canyon and surrounding landscape is from the air. After your heli flight check in to your accommodation and watch the sunset from the viewing platform. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your morning in Alice and decide what time to depart for your flight.

Day 4: Wattarka (Kings Canyon) to Uluru (Ayers Rock)

An early morning start gives you the opportunity to do the complete Kings Canyon walk during the coolest part of the day ( subject to health and fitness) Spend part of the day driving from Wattarka to Uluru along Luritja Rd and Lasseter highway. A mid morning departure allows you to arrive and settle into Ayers Rock Resort in a relaxed state. In the afternoon we have organised a 40min scenic flight to take photos of this extraordinary landscape. The aerial view puts the size of Uluru and The Olgas into perspective against the flat desert.Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your day.

Day 5: Exploring Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park:

A magnificent day exploring the Kata-Tjuta National Park. Spend the time driving or walking around the base of the rock exploring the many aspects of this amazing monolith . You also have the opportunity to climb the Rock (people with heart and respiratory problems or fear of heights should not attempt it). In the afternoon visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) a collection of weathered red domes, located 50 km from Ayers Rock along a sealed road. There are two formal walks at Kata Tjuta and both are recommended. Many people believe Kata Tjuta is even more spectacular than the Rock.

Return to your accommodation before being picked up and taken to the Sounds of Silence Dinner. Watch the sunset over the Rock and fine dinning under the stars. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your full day in Uluru.

Day 6: Uluru - Alice Springs:

An early wake up to experience sunrise with a guided tour. This package allows you to choose between four options to watch the spectacular sunrise over Uluru. option 1) a peaceful 1 hr camel ride over big red sand dunes 2) a hearty sunrise breakfast in an open air dining site and informative talk on local flaura and fauna on a secluded sand dune with 360-degree views 3) A 2hr guided walk of Uluru with local Aboriginal guides who will share ancient bush skills (also includes breakfast) 4) A full guided base walk of Uluru (also includes breakfast)

After completing your tour, return back to the resort and begin the 450km drive back to Alice Springs. Your departure time will depend on the attractions you want to see from these two locations and along the Lasseter and Stuart Highways. Your Travel pack includes specific information and recommendations so you can make the most of your morning and the trip back to Alice.

Day 7: Free Day in Alice

(Package price assumes vehicle will be returned to the depot at the same time as it was picked up on Day 1).

    • Book the package to start in Alice and end in Uluru or the other way around. (No change to price)
    • Upgrade to the 4WD so you can drive between Alice and Kings Canyon on the Mereenie Loop Road
    • Spend a night at Glen Helen Lodge on night 2 instead of back in Alice. (only suitable if you hire a 4WD and drive to Kings Canyon on the Mereenie Loop Road)
    • Find out the price for more than just 2 adults travelling.
    • Hire a medium or large sedan instead of the small sedan/hatchback.
    • Change or add to the tours eg you may want to replace or remove a particular flight with a different tour or add another tour to the morning of Day 5 - its up to you
